Classes

Group classes are 1 hour per week and typically run for 4 - 5 weeks. I keep classes small so that you will benefit from personalized instruction.

Owners of small dogs (< 25 lb.) may be interested in my new small-dogs-only classes. Organize a group of 3 or 4 friends with similar-sized dogs and sign up for a class together! (Ask about the group discount.) Small dog classes cover the same content as those for mixed sizes but are restricted to dogs of a smaller size.

Puppy Prep School

The main purpose of Puppy Prep School is to prepare puppies to grow into confident, well-rounded adult dogs. The socialization period from 7-16 weeks is the perfect time to begin puppy classes, as this is the most influential learning period in a dog's life. Much of what is learned during this time is permanent and provides a foundation for adult behavior patterns.

The focus of my puppy classes is on positive interactions with other dogs, people, objects, along with an introduction to good manners such as:

• attention to name
• sit
• come when called
• learning to walk on lead

Weekly topics on all-things-puppy (e.g., house training and crate training) will be covered. We will also discuss preventing problem behaviors such as:

• nipping
• jumping
• guarding objects

Pet Dog Manners

Pet Dog Manners is for dogs older than 16 weeks. It focuses on teaching your dog behaviors which you would like to see around the house, in the company of others or while out for a walk--simple good manners.

Lifestyle Learning

Lifestyle Learning provides opportunities for you to transfer basic skills to real-life situations. Along with learning new useful behaviors, you will be putting into practice what you and your dog have learned.

Superstar! Clicks 'n' Tricks

This is one of my favourite classes to teach because owners and dogs are relaxed and having fun together. Tricks not only deepen your relationship with your dog, they provide much needed mental stimulation and strengthen the basic behaviors learned in Pet Dog Manners class.

Hollywood Hounds

Prepare your dog for the big screen by teaching him more complex tricks such as opening the cupboard and bringnig you a bottle of water. Want to bring out your dog's artistic side? Teach him to paint! Need more help around the house? Teach your dog to pick up his toys and put your clothes in the laundry hamper.

You are limited only by your imagination and your dog's physical ability to perform a particular task.
